The Zest to LIVE.

Simplicity has always been surreal.

I was born without a silver spoon in my mouth. I grew up in a nice home with my parents and two sisters. After all these years, it is still a home I look forward to, especially every end of the year just because I want to spend Christmas season with the people who are most important in my existence.

Ever since I was small, deep inside, I've always been ambitious. I have absolutely nothing against my parents teaching me how to deal things (specifically when something involves of monetary value), or encouraging to go for scholarship just because they can't afford my schooling fees. I never rebelled against their rules of the game: I went home after school at 5 o'clock in the afternoon, finished my schoolwork by 9 o'clock in the evening, and wake up at around 5 o'clock the next morning. I did chores too. My parents taught me that hard work pays off, so is discipline.  On one note, I am not deprived of childhood fun. I played a lot of street games, collected a lot of scars, and shared a lot of laughter and tears with my friends for as long as I am at home before 6 o'clock.  Indeed almost every facet of my life back home is set by a big clock. But then, again, I did not rebel. It was all fine until I flew away from home.

I just felt that my family deserves more. With what I can do, I deserve more. By the time I entered college in one premier state university, I travel, study, and work far away from home, constantly seeking independence, exercising freedom of choice and accountability of my actions. It was all bittersweet. I thought survival and living were the same. I was wrong.

Survival and living are similar but definitely different. It is a matter of emotions connected with each. In survival, it is all about competition, the will to always continue for the next phase. On the other hand, in living, it is all about appreciation, the will to continue for the next phase with a legacy to leave in the present moment.

There's a saying, "Life is what we make it." I've been poisoned by the idea about what life really is. It all about fun and adventure. It is all about making simple choices. It is about meeting new friends while connecting with the old ones. It is all about traveling to other places while going back home with a smile of contentment. It is all about savoring the wonders of kitchen in the north, south, east and the west with lavish words of compliment to all the chefs. It is all about being educated with different cultures while sharing one's own with pride. It is all about love, no matter how cliche it may seem to be.

Life is banquet; it is offered to all, but yes, with a price to pay. And I believe every one of us have what it takes to have it. Add in the zest to life. LIVE!
